Unt system hosts job shadowing day at ucd

On October 31, 20 students came to the Universities Center at Dallas (UCD) for a day of job shadowing as a result of extensive planning by the UNT System. The participation of UCD faculty members, administrators and staff and industry professionals were designed to be academically motivating, linking the students' academic courses to real-world careers.

UNT System staff set the stage for The Greater Dallas Chamber, which worked with DISD to identify those students who would most benefit from the experience. The Chamber then coordinated schools, teachers, and transportation for the event.

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has long supported programs that help to get more high school students into college; this job shadowing program enabled the UNT System — for the second year — to further that mission at the UCD.
